I cant do well on the SAT- I do extremely well in school, have the leadership, volunteer hours, and everything but im horrible at the SATs. My guidance councelor recommended the ACT because its not out to trick you and its more content based and im better at retaining. I heard Ivy Leagues toss aside most applications when they see the ACT though...is this true?

I’ve heard anecdotes about how Ivy League schools despise the ACT. What I’ve never heard is anyone who actually has power over Ivy League admissions say anything but “both tests are considered equally”. Take from that what you will.

I highly doubt that those schools prefer the SAT over the ACT. I mean, both of them are standardized tests, and they are just two different exams with different parts. Same here, I get about 1900s in the SAT whereas get 36 on the ACT. The ACT questions are much more logical and straightforward.
