Hi, I'm taking two classes with different lecture times but they have the same discussion times. I've heard from my friends that you can just sit in with any discussion you want. Is this true? And from anyone's past experience, is it hard to have two finals on the same day?

Thank you

It depends.

If both discussions take attendance, you are screwed.
If quizzes are hosted in both discussions, you are screwed.
If participation is required as part of your grade in both discussions, you are screwed.

You could always ask the professor if he/she will allow you to go to any discussions. Some professors allow it, others don’t due to overcrowding concerns.

I’ve only had one occasion where I had two finals on the same day. Unfortunately, I wasn’t don’t very well in both classes, so having both finals on the same day didn’t work well for me.

I would say that if you’re doing well in at least one of those classes, it should be fine.
