Does it matter that the SAT 2's I took does not relate to my major?

If I intend to go into Electrical Engineering, but I took Math 2 and Bio, will that hurt my chances more than if I took something like Physics?

Specifically for the UCs.

-

What's wrong with Math 2? I thought every engineering major required that one.

Almost all engineering programs want Math 2 and either Chem or Physics.

I don't think it would hurt anything especially if whoamg is right.

That's the thing..I plan to apply into engineering, but I took SAT 2 Bio as my science SAT2. Just want to know if it will hurt me in anyway

take the subjects you feel like you'd do best in. my intended course is pure math with a dbl major in physics, (if not, spanish), but i chose to take the chem test since a) chem is fun & b) i like being challenged.

if your track is ee, however, i agree with the above three posters. definitely take one math test. your preferred science subject is also physics. don't forget -- if you invented a new compu language, have (like feynman) toyed with radios since you were six -- to emphasize that over some three-digit number.

Well, I've already taken the tests and nobody has actually answered the question..I understand that physics is preferred, but will taking biology with the intended major of EE hinder my chances in anyway?

UCs don't look at which test you took. they only look at your scores. of course this is different if you're an intended engineering major, but the only difference is that they want you to take math 2 + a science. it doesn't matter which science you take.

Math 2 is fine. But you should take physics if EE is your intended major. In some schools any science is OK, phys and chem are part of engineering curriculum

You are fine. From Cal's Engineering webpage:

"Engineering applicants are strongly encouraged to take the SAT Subject Test in Math Level 2 and a SAT Subject Test in science (Biology E.M, Chemistry or Physics)."
