Does it matter?

I know that the financial aid offices see the other schools we’ve applied to via FAFSA and CSS. Does this effect our chances of admission? Do the adcoms even see these lists or do only the financial aid officers see it?

financial aid has no effect on admissions

Do the colleges see other schools we've applied to via FAFSA and CSS? On another thread, there seemed to be a difference of opinion on this. Some said they did, others said they did not.

I know some people, who didn't apply to Brown, have interviews at the school and be asked where else they applied. Of course, they named a few lesser schools, but then the interviewer was like, "well it says here that you applied here, and here too." So that sucked for them, but I don't know if Brown looks at the FAFSA and CSS to find out that information.

Well, that's kind of creepy. I personally don't think the schools should have access to that information. It's none of their business and shouldn't be at all relevant to them.

as a freshman at BROWN, it doesn't effect admissions. The term is need blind. At some other schools it does. If you are a transfer, they do see it. They aren't need blind.
