I have seen, on several college websites, that it is recommended to apply online.

However, I wish to apply through the mail because I think it is easier.

So does anyone know if it really matters if I apply online or via mail?

Thanks in advance.

Also, can I apply to one college via mail and another through the online application?

It is merely recommended, not mandatory; I actually also thought it was easier to apply via mail, but then again that was two years ago, but personally, I really don't think it should matter unless of course the school only accepts online applications, and yes you should definiteliy be able to apply to some schools online while applying to others by mail. Good luck :)

it is much easier for the school if you apply online, then eveything gets saved onto a server so it can't get lost, and makes organization on their part a hell of a lot easier. so in their perspective, its great if you apply online.

hwoever if you have any aspects of an application that (for example, italics or footnotes in an essay or something that cna't be done online) may need mailing then you cna do so; theres really no preference. online's just easeir for them.

it matters how much you want it to matter (as in whatever aspects of your app that, applying online, will be negatively affected)

It doesnt matter as far as admissions purposes, but it is a hell of a lot easier to do it online with the common app, then a few other online apps for those who dont do common app than to write out individual apps for every school and mail them in...
