Does it take longer to receive ACT / SAT scores if students were given extra time on the exam?

I have a friend who’s daughter has not received her score from the August SAT exam, and she is wondering if the fact that her daughter had extra-time accommodations for the test could be a cause for the delay in getting her score back.

My S17 had extended time on both ACT and SAT and I don’t recall any significant delays in getting his scores after the kids without accommodations got theirs.

It shouldn’t take any longer. My son (no extra time) hasn’t gotten his scores either. Did your friend’s daughter take the test in Northern California by any chance?

No, she is on the East Coast. I guess it’s good to hear that not everyone has received their scores. I was under the assumption that the SAT released “all” scores earlier this week. Apparently I was wrong. I wonder what the hold-up is …

Yes, it can take longer to get scores back if the student has double test time, or takes the test over a span of several weeks. It can take about five weeks in those instances. It can also take longer is a student takes the test outside of a test center, or with special circumstances. Some students take the test in their high school guidance center, or in a private room. Some students have a transcriber who fills out the answer key for the students.

For the routine time and a half student who takes it at a regular facility, the test should be scored in the same time as the majority of test takers.

As stated above. yes it can take longer.

Sorry, I didn’t think of students with those other accommodation scenarios. I was only thinking of students with normal time and a half, and in my experience those kids got their scores on time.

Has your friend’s daughter received her August SAT scores yet? My son took the August SAT in the east coast, and they are now showing pending. On 9/6, his CB account didn’t even acknowledge that scores were out. Then, on 9/12 it showed up as “your scores are coming soon.” Yesterday evening, his message changed to “your scores are pending.” This is his 3rd time taking the SAT, and first time this is occurring. Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue.

Not yet (9/17)

We did finally receive our son’s scores yesterday (9/16), including the essay. Difficult wait!
