Hello, I'm an incoming freshman in the fall at Sac State. In the past couple of days I have been deciding what classes to take and when. I finally finished planning my classes for the next two year (mind you this is all done at home, not at orientation). My question is does the later your orientation mean that you have fewer classes to choose from? And also, can I enroll online or do I have to wait until orientation?

I was also trying to find intro to psyc and geography classes and many of them are on "waitlist". Does that mean there are currently students in the class and will refill those who are waiting on the waitlist before school starts?

Thanks!

At orientation at Sonoma State they helped you pick your classes, so your plans might change. I know at SSU, they don’t open some classes or seats in classes until orientation. They make sure that every freshman will be a full time student. Not so sure about Sac State, but I assume it works the same.
As for waitlist, it means there are people in the class, but the class is currently full. If someone decides to drop the class, the 1st person off the waitlist gets the seat. I’m not sure what you mean by refill those students. If the students don’t get into the class from the waitlist, they just aren’t in the class.

In previous years, during the summer, they have opened up more seats for high demand freshman level courses such as Calculus I (Math 30).
