Hey guys.

I am going to Sac State (yes, I could not get into Davis, laugh if you want) for a bio chem major. For my major, I need Chem 1A, Bio 1, Math 30 and physics 5A.
I got accepted early and I have been eager to register. My orientation is not until the 22nd of July. Until then I cannot register for any class. One thing I can do is look at available classes for Fall of 2013. From what I am noticing, all of my major classes are getting snatched. A couple days ago, a chem 1A class opened up and it was taken a few days later to my horror.

Am I the only one worried about getting classes for my first year semester?

Have you called an academic adviser at Sac State to ask about this issue? Some colleges open just some of the spaces in each class on a rolling basis with each orientation session. Others fill their classes first come, first served. You’ll want to know how Sac State handles this issue, and what your options will be in another month.

I know at Sonoma State they add new classes every orientation so freshman can have classes. They might do the same.

Chico said they add/release freshman classes as they fill up too. Sounds like a common practice at CSUs. I think I’d call Sac and confirm they do the same. If not, I’d reschedule my orientation.
