Does manuscript work count as undergrad research experience?

My undergrad research work with one of my profs included dealing with editing and formatting manuscripts for journal submission and collecting and adding information to it which was missing and was available in another report. My responsibility was the editing, proofreading and formatting but I didn't develop any actual lab/computer research skills.

How do I add this experience to my research experience on my cv: For instance: What should the job title be - 'Manuscipt editing work'?? or is it not counted as research experience at all since I didn't technically work on solving any research question.

Has anyone done something like this as an undergrad before? How did you incorporate it into your CV?

Really? No one?

It is not research, however, you should put it on your resume exactly as you said. Now that you have had this experience, why don’t you ask if you can get involved in actual research with the same professor?

No, this isn’t research experience. You simply edited the paper for language conventions, not content. You can certainly put it on your CV, but I’d put it in an “other experience” section and describe it the way you said.
