Does med school accept students from its university??

Hi, everyone!
My question is does med school accept students from its college??
I want to be a psychiatrist and I want to major in psychology at Johns Hopkins university, then go to JH med school. But my friend told me that med school dont accept students from its college. I also looked up on internet, but some said undergraduate doesnt matter for med school.

Is that true??

For the most part, undergraduate school really doesn’t matter when it comes to med school admissions. If you’re really worried about whether JHU accepts students from its undergrad programs–try contacting the Dean of Admissions at JHU to get a definitive answer.

Attending JHU for undergrad will not give you any kind of boost in admissions to JHU med school (which, btw, is one of the most competitive med schools in the US).

Generally speaking it’s a very bad idea to attend any undergrad with the idea of going to a certain med school upon graduation. You have no idea if you’ll even be a viable candidate for ANY med school, much less a Top 10 med school.

Your friend is wrong. The most important factors in deciding on a college are finding one that you feel that will support you, that you think will be enjoyable, and one that is financially an option.
