I have read old threads that state that MIT admissions does not consider the writing section of the SAT. Is this still the case?

I have never seen them state that they do consider it, but I have not seen an updated statement one way or another in several years.

The word “consider” is an odd one. Yes, they obviously see it. However, they are on record as saying they they have not found that it correlates well with future success at MIT, whereas the other two sections of the SAT have much higher correlations. As a result, as I understand it talking to them, they do not find the score to be meaningful. That being said, if someone rolls up with an SAT writing score of (say) 380, then I suspect that it might well matter, but that is just a guess.
