does MIT mens lacrosse have any admissions influence?

heard that MIT coaches have less pull than other D3 schools for recruiting players.....true?

From my post on another thread:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=77756

Having a coach write a recommendation definitely helps you get in. Recruiting at MIT doesn't help you as much as at an Ivy League school. And at an Ivy League school it doesn't help you as much as a regular Division I school.

MIT does admit people that probably wouldn't get in without coach recommendations.

And another one:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=73571

The coaches can really help you get into the school. Make sure they write you a recommendation. You won't be nearly guaranteed admission like in the Ivies, but at MIT if you have a mix of average or below average academics compared to the admitted students and a coach really wants you, you have a very good shot, where you otherwise wouldn't really have one.

Oh, I'm sorry I didn't read your question well. They might (but maybe not) have less pull than other D-III schools, but most other D-III schools aren't hard to get into.
