<p>I think the reason Holy Cross is rated higher not only because it is much smaller than Notre Dame which results in much smaller class sizes (10-19 versus 20-29) but because it is strictly undergraduate so undergraduate students get all of the attention of the professors and there are no graduate students doing any teaching.</p>
<p>I should clarify that this is College of the Holy Cross near Boston that I am talking about and not the tiny Holy Cross College near Notre Dame.</p>
<p>I wondered about that, but I didn't think you would leave a detail like that out given the audience.</p>
