Does my school have horrible grade inflation?

I have a 4.72 UW and a 3.4 W.

AP/Dual Enrollment = 6.0
Pre-AP = 5.0
Regular = 4.0

I'm taking 3 Dual Enrollment classes, and was forced to take 1 pre-ap and 1 regular (fine arts, im not artsy) class :|

It just seems like a HUGE difference.

I always find it strange when people have 5.1 plus GPAs. I wonder why their school doesn't use the normal 4.0/5.0 system. I don't really know about the grade inflation, but were the duel enrollment classes weighted?

? Wow pre-AP ?? Why don't they just say Honors?

O.O
uhh... what?
o btw do u mean to switch ur UW and W around

oops, yes, my bad >.<

it'd be odd to have an UW that high...

Because we just don't call it Honors. :P Weird public school labels everything not 4.0 "Pre-AP".

and reverse I put the grade weighting scale there :)

They give Dual classes a 6.0

It doesn't matter. Colleges recalculate your GPA anyway. Just try to get A's.

That's exactly how my school system works also, except we have Honors instead of Pre-AP. Most people with at least one AP class and honors with somewhat decent grades have ridiculously high quarter grades over 4.0.

That's a lot like ours.
AP/IB/ Dual Enrollment (a few)- 6.0
Pre-IB/honors/ Dual Enrollment(a lot)-4.5
Regular-4.0

ours are

honors and ap: 5.0
regular: 4.0

3 P.E courses, a fine arts course, and health all MUST be unweighted, plus we have to take other electives so at our school gpa's don't normally get too much higher than a 4.5 or so

AP = 5
Honor, Dual Enrollment, "Advanced", Regular, & Everything =4
