Does my school have the AP English courses mixed up?

<p>My school offers AP English Lit. to 11th graders and AP English Lang. to 12th graders. Is this normal? I looked at the course selection guides for a few other schools in the area, and they all have it the other way. Also, at my school 12th graders are required to take a literature class. I know for sure this wasn't just a type, because they had the classes like this on the summer reading list and course selection guide multiple times.</p>
