Does ND give financial aid to international students?

And are there scholarships available for international students?

"Financial aid opportunities for first-year international students are limited and at present; there is no funding to assist international transfer students. International students should be prepared to finance, either privately or through a sponsor, the full cost of their Notre Dame education. The International Student Certification of Finances must be submitted at the time of application for admission, illustrating and documenting sufficient financial support to meet the projected cost of a Notre Dame undergraduate education.

Students also should be prepared to finance their health insurance and travel expenses from and to their home countries. Students planning to remain at the University through the summer months will incur additional expenses beyond those noted above. Please note that all dormitories close upon completion of the academic year."

—I don’t get this. First they tell you that fin aid is limited (which still means that they are available, right?), and then they tell you that you should show that you can meet all expenses. So, int students are not going to get any aid?

Bump. Can anyone answer this question?

Maybe they mean there is no money for international transfer students. For international freshmen students there may be money , but it is very limited. Therefore, freshmen should be prepared to finance the entire cost of their education. Of course, it’s best to call and ask.

I’m not positive, but I think the only aid open to International students is the Hesburgh-Yusko scholarship (which is open to all students who apply EA). Given that the ND website states that International Students must have proof that they can fund their education, I’m assuming chances of receiving financial aid are incredibly limited/ nonexistent. You could always e-mail the office of financial aid and ask if they could elaborate.
