i'm waitlisted for the class i want because i don't have the course entry code...which i'm assuming i can get if i go to the first class.

HOWEVER, my backup class is held at the same time [and i was able to actually enroll in it].

if i go to the waitlisted class instead of the enrolled class the first day, wil i automatically be kicked out of the enrolled one? i mean, i don't think there's any guarantee i'll get the CEC for the waitlisted one [although why it requires one is beyond me because it's a pretty basic class that i need for my major].

You wont be kicked out automatically, unless there is a big waitlist, then the prof might take roll. It all depends on the class and professor. What class do you need a CEC for? If its for your major, then you may get priority.

well the class is african american studies 4A.
[the second half, to be taken next semester is 4B]

my major will be interdisciplinary studies, and AfricAm 4a & 4b are satisfying the 2 halves of the "world civilization" requirement to be admitted to said major.

for reference, the class i enrolled in instead is development studies 10, which has liek 50 seats left. so do you think it'd be ok for me to go the the AfricAm class to get the CEC? or should i perhaps try to obtain that during welcome week instead?
