Does Oregon still have rolling admissions or are all decisions for early decision/regular admission sent out at the same time? thanks

Hi Horvo63, we notify applicants on a rolling basis. However, sometimes we can’t make a final admission decision without seeing an applicant’s fall semester grades. So even if an applicant meets the “early notification” deadline, they may need to wait until March to receive a final decision (that’s why we say “early notification” not “early decision”).

@UOregon- what causes you to be unable to make these final decisions earlier? thanks

There isn’t one answer to that question, since it depends on each individual applicants’ situation. Often it’s because we want to see what kind of grades an applicant gets in their fall semester of senior year, especially if the applicant was taking one of our required courses in that semester.

D sent her application today (10/23) for early notification. Assuming all materials are complete (she was told SAT were rec’d, but transcripts & recs have been sent but not processed by UO yet), when should she expect a decision? I do realize that she can be asked for fall grades, but baring that…

pushydad, My daughter submitted her application on Saturday, 10/6. Her decision (Admission Offered) was posted on Duckweb on Monday, 10/15, and she received her letter on Monday, 10/22. For some reason, this child of the digital age didn’t feel that her acceptance was official until the letter arrived in the mail. It was a fairly small, thin envelope, so don’t let that alarm you. UO’s letter arrived on the same day as a very large acceptance from another school, so she was a bit thrown! Good luck to your daughter.

My son’s “ADMISSION OFFERED” showed up today online, the same day his transcript showed up online as rec’d by U of O and his app was complete. Phew! It’s one of his top choices. He had submitted his app and scores Oct. 1.
