Can anyone tell me when and how Oregon reviews applications? Once submitted, how long do they take, how do they notify, and have they started admitting yet?

November 1st is the application deadline for “nonbinding early notification” which I believe means they’ll let you know by December 1st. But letting you know could be you’re in, you’re out, or they will reevaluate you after first semester grades are submitted. I haven’t heard of anyone being notified yet.

I submitted my application in the middle of December last year and was notified that I was accepted two weeks later. My friend, from the same school as me, applied at around the same time and was not notified that she was accepted until April.

My D had the application and all other materials in on 9/20, received a letter to that effect and then a week later received an acceptance letter, on 9/28. So in addition to the early action deadline they must do a rolling admissions, which I believe the website actually says something about hearing in two to four weeks if everything is received. It was a wonderful pick-me-up for her on what had been a terrible day.

That’s great to hear, TX12mom. Congratulations to you and to your daughter. And good for her for getting it done so early. What they say about the early bird is true!
