Does Pace University give full ride scholarships?

The information on the website is kind of vague, but does anyone know if Pace University offers full ride or full tuition scholarships?

No, they do not. They also do not meet 100% demonstrated need. Their biggest scholarship is ~25k

what are your stats?? are they high enough for large meriy elsewhere?

I received a merit scholarship from VCU, no idea what amount yet. I don’t really want to get into a whole list, but briefly, I’ve taken eleven AP classes (with passing scores for all exams already complete), my GPA is 3.76/4.65, class rank 5%, ACT 28 (33E, 31R, 23M, 23S), I’m a Girl Scout Gold recipient, went to Girls State and a Summer Governor’s School, I’ve been a Key Club events coordinator for three years, long term dedication to technical theater/backstage running crew, piano, Girl Scouts, a few other clubs, I founded and am president of my school’s LGBTQ Alliance, and I have a chronic health condition that has majorly impacted my life.

@sybbie719 thanks for the info! I didn’t realize that, wouldn’t have wasted the money to apply if I’d known .-. Where did you find that info by the way?

Did you see this? http://www.pace.edu/admissions-aid/undergraduate-admissions/freshman/merit-scholarship-estimator

I used the estimator and put in GPA of 99 and SAT score of 1600 and did not get full tuition; max 24.5k/year even if student was a NYS resident getting full TAP and Pell it would not cover tuition (they do not participate in HEOP)

Thanks everyone, wish I’d realized this earlier. I’ll still wait to hear back officially, but for now it looks like this mediocre and and middle class girl will be remaining in-state.

@pterosprite - My daughter got more than the above mentioned 25K offered to her this year (she was offered two different scholarships from Pace). It wasn’t much more than that - but it was a bit more. It made tuition less than room and board! Anyway - just trying to give you some hope that they seem to give quite a bit of money and maybe you will get more. She is going for a BFA and was told there may be talent scholarships too (although they are reportedly smaller amounts).

I visited today and had my financial aid appointment… In addition to the 26,500 I’d initially been awarded I was given another 7,000, but it’s definitely too much left to pay to attend. I’m not in a position that I could enroll in the school and just hope for more scholarships without being sure, and I’d end up 50,000 in debt… Nice place though! Best of luck to everyone else!

Totally understand that. Unfortunately for us the $50k is on the lower end we will owe for four years (after scholarships). Ridiculous amounts of money but I can only hope my daughter is lucky enough to have only $12-13k to pay each year after merit aid (which is less than several in-state schools where we live). So much better than $20-30k per year after scholarships! Not sure how we will do it either. Good luck to you. Sounds like you have options that will leave you with less debt and that is never a bad thing!

@bfahopeful My daughter is interested in a double major at Pace, business and BFA in commercial dance. I too went on their calculator and looks like the most she can get is 24,500.

  1. Is that calculator pretty accurate? Is there a chance there could be more money once they see the entire application? Her GPA is 3.9 Unweighted, 4.4 Weighted, top 5%, 33 ACT.

  2. Do they give more scholarship if admitted in the honors school?

I’m hoping she will get some money from the dance college from her audition.

Is your daughter going to Pace? What’s her major?

I think the calculator is fairly accurate. My daughter got two different scholarships - one for merit (academics) and one for the honors school. Both renewable for each of the 4 years. She also got a tiny grant in her financial aid package. I hear they have (small) talent awards too - but they were up front that it is not a lot of extra money. My daughter decided on another school, so we didn’t receive anything else after declining the offer of admission. Your daughter has slightly higher stats than mine so I would guess she will get the most they will give for academics. I think it is around the 26K mark. Sounds like @pterosprite got additional $7000 during a financial aid appointment. I wonder if that is all scholarship or if it includes the federal loans. Schools add in your federal loans as part of your “package” to meet your need. I don’t include it when I think about the awarded money because it needs to be paid back! But maybe making an appointment with financial aid is the way to go. An additionaly 7k would be wonderful news. Good luck to you!

(and my daughter was admitted for BFA acting)
