Major Scholarships-close to full rides?

I was just wondering if anyone has received just merit scholarships/aid around 25k or so? If so, what were your stats? Also would you say that NYU makes an effort to fulfill your efc even if yours is 25k?

my son received 30K in scholarship money his first 2 years of NYU and 32K this up coming year. My EFC is 12K and I will pay all of that, plus some more (really glad son is in cheap dorm this year). My son also has 2400 in perkins loans each year and the max subsidized stafford each year (3500, 4500, 5500 for this year)

His SAT was 2250, 790 math, 740 cr, 720 writing. he’s a white male, went to inner city magnet school and never met his father. (my brother/his uncle did graduate from NYU-Tisch in about 1989 - not sure that counts for anything)

I received exactly $25k in scholarship per year for all four years of my college education at NYU. Back then, the SAT was scored out of 1600, and I had a 800 on math and a 760 on verbal. I also scored 740 on the SAT II for Writing or whatever it was called.

I got $21,500 in scholarships, $2,500 of that is from the National Merit Scholarship program though. if you aren’t satisfied with your financial aid award, you can always call in and complain about it (like I did…haha) and I got $3,000 more. I don’t think they’d give out more than that though just by calling in.

stats: 3.67 unweighted GPA, 2290 SAT

My scholarship is close to full tuition, like $42,800 ish. But it wasn’t merit, I’ll tell you that. I got that money because I’m poor.

But if you must know, GPA 3.8 (very noncompetitive school, though, so…grain of salt), SAT 2190.
