Is the best way to improve your sat scores constantly taking practice tests or going and doing the sections. I hate doing Barron's math workbook, would taking practice tests and correcting mistakes be as beneficial? I've been told that constant practice tests will get you your score.

Only if you can carefully identify your mistakes, can note down the type of mistakes you make, study those sections and test again. No point in taking more and more practice tests, not identifying what is bringing your score down.
After you take like 2 full length practice tests (collegeboard), I think you will have a pretty good idea of what you need to work on.

Agreed. And actually the Barron’s workbook is one of the better books, imo, to give you a lot of targeted practice in very specific areas. So if you do some practice test and identify the areas in which you are struggling, you can go to those specific sections of the Barron’s book, read the section, and then do some or all of the exercises that come at the end of that section.
