Does Princeston see an A- as the same as an A in admissions?

Silverturtle - so in commonapp you specified part hispanic? There were statements in CC that you declared yourself caucasian on the college applications.

Will no one answer my question? Doesn’t a hispanic have no choice (unless he is black) to choose hispanic as ethnicity and white as race? How do colleges know you are truly URM?

Here is what it looks like on common app.

Are you Hispanic/Latino?

I don’t mean to hijack the thread, but silverturtle, I’m a Princeton alumna and having read many of your posts, I truly hope you get in off the waitlist, because I think Princeton would be lucky to have you.

Best of luck.

I second Midatlmom’s comments. Silverturtle, your postings on the CC boards have shown a great level of maturity to accompany your terrific academic credentials. I do hope you find a home at Princeton.

I third Midat’s comments. Wish you luck on comming off the Princeton waitlist Silverturtle…

Out of curiosity, silverturtle, why do you think you got rejected/waitlisted at ALL of the HYP? It does not make sense that none of the top three would accept such a great applicant.

Silverturtle:

I was disappointed to not have you at Yale but Princeton would be lucky to get you too. Your maturity and service to CC is always evident. I wonder if you could get a “Silverturtle for Princeton” campaign started on these boards and then contact Princeton to say “I am Silverturtle”. Good luck to you.

It’s happened before and will happen again. Silverturtle is obviously an extremely talented student. Harvard and Yale, however, decided that their respective campuses were not right for him. But I’d like to ask people to stop trying to console him; he’s going to a fantastic school that will provide almost identical opportunities to those provided by HYP. If he gets off the Princeton waitlist, great. Brown is an excellent Ivy League institution that happens to place exceptionally well into America’s top law schools.

I clicked on this thread hoping to find a post on Princeton’s gpa calculation. I never found it.

Time for google?

Since when did Princeton admission officers recalculate GPAs? They have that much time on their hands? Amusing.

How is it possible that silverturtle has more than 10,000 posts?

Because he reached 9,999… and kept going…
