Does Princeton still prefer SAT over ACT, but accepts both?

Historically they have a preference, but has it changed much in recent years?

I'll also post this on the Princeton Board

Stated policy is now to accept either without preference. That has been true for only a year (previously SAT was preferred and ACT accepted only if other colleges you are applying to take only the ACT).

No discrimination...submit either.

"...ACT accepted only if other colleges you are applying to take only the ACT)."

Interesting. How would Princeton enforce such a policy?

It was essentially a facade since Princeton could virtually always assume that every other college you were applying to took the SAT. For many years, there was only one college that took only the ACT -- Brighman Young. That is another one that now has a strange policy -- it takes the SAT but only if you come from a geographical area (state) where the ACT but not the SAT is available; there is none.

Also, despite its prior stated policy, Princeton actually did accept some that submitted the ACT but not the SAT.
