Does public high school accreditation status make admissions officers think twice about a prospective student? If a student has good grades and SAT scores that back up those grades, would he or she stand a lesser chance of acceptance because of the high school's accreditation record?

high school accredidation means nothing in terms of college admissions at any college I know of. In fact, many of the top schools (harvard, yale, etc) don't even require a high school diploma at all (although I can imagine that you would have to be a wunderkid to get accepted without one).'

Homeschoolers are widely accepted at colleges, as are international students -- and none of them attends an "accreditated" high school. Many private schools and religious schools are not accreditated.
