Hello all, I just had a quick question about high school ranking. I go to a very competitive and small prep school. It is so small that it doesnt calculate GPA (unweighted or weighted) and therefore doesn't rank its student. Many people on CC have said that if you aren't top 5% in the class, schools like WashU, Princeton, and Stanford, would be very very tough (not impossible but unlikely) to be accepted to. I wanted to know if my high school not ranking will hurt my app, or if they will see my straight A's and 10+ AP's (school offers 12) as being extremely rigorous, and assume that I graduated at the top of my class (I would have if they ranked students). Thanks.

I think that if you are at a top prep school, you are considered to be the top 10% of your public school (as long as you do reasonable well at the prep school).

The schools will figure it out. Many of the top schools recompute the GPA anyway.

Reasonably well…does this only apply to only straight A’s? I did have 2 A- and one B(AP European History) would this be reasonably well?
