Does regents exams affect my chances of getting into cuny?

So I had to go on an emergency trip and I missed my Spanish regents and failed my chemistry regents by 5 points since I had no time to study. My grades are pretty good (92% average) and my sat is decent (1130). I’m wondering if failing a regents and missing one will affect my chances of getting into cuny schools, more specifically Queens college.

  1. For starters, there's no longer a Spanish Regents. It's a regional exam. Not sure whether that makes a difference to anyone.
  2. Why not take/retake both in August?
  3. Not sure about the answer as far as CUNY goes. Your guidance counselor should know though.

The chem regents is given in august. You can take the regents wherever your high school is having summer school as a walk-in.

The LOTEis not given in the summer. Find out if your high school is giving the Lote in January and take it then.

On your SUNY application, they will ask what kind of diploma will you have when you graduate. You need the LOTE to get an advanced regents diploma. Were you pursuing an advanced regents diploma with Mastery?

It won’t be your regents scores but your SAT scores that will put you at risk of not getting accepted as they are over 100 points lower than the median.

Sorry for the super late reply.

I will retake the SAT in August and I will see if I want to retake the lote regents. My question is that if I skip the chem regents and take the physics regents instead, will I get accepted as I am applying in October so I would not have completed 2 science regents.

Also on a side note, does AP affect collge acceptance in any way? I skipped the AP CS exam as I felt that I knew really little in the subject due to an incompetent teacher.
