<p>Hi, im a sophomore. I am very active in speech and debate and volunteer at hospitals. I have also recently started working with a professor on his research at a University. I've heard that research looks good for accelerated med programs. However, would speech and debate look very good as well. I am going to nationals and was ranked 7th in California. How good would this look, or should I focus on research instead.</p>
<p>Is there some reason you can’t do both? ECs outside of medicine are definitely appreciated, and having both research and debate at a high level would look really nice. The top programs expect the standard medical ECs and then some more unique ones.</p>
