Does SCA read common app?

My DS is applying to SCA for film production. Does anyone know if the department reads both the common app and the supplemental material? He plans to call and ask, but I know the CC community knows so much, you might know this, too. The reason he wants to know is his common app essay is on a topic that would fit perfectly with the supplement. If they don't read the common app, he can expand on the same theme. If they do read it, then he will choose something else to write about, so as not to be boring or redundant. Thanks for your help!

This is the first year USC is using the common app, so ??? Let us all know when you find out!

In past years, SCA asked applicants to send a copy of their USC application along with their supplement but NOT to send their USC general application essays. Hmmm. When some kids could not make copies of the main app off the internet (lots of troubles with that in past), SCA told them by phone not to worry about it. These questions were discussed and worried over in prior CC seasons.

Good point about this being the first year… I knew that… but didn’t put two and two together… No one will know the answer to that yet! Thanks, Madbean!
