Does SCEA Increase Chances?

Usually applying SCEA to a school increases your chances because it signals to the school that you are their number one choice.

However, Georgetown's SCEA acceptance rate is .4% higher RD acceptance rate. Furthermore, it seems that the people who get accepted SCEA, would have gotten accepted had they applied RD.

I was intending on applying to Georgetown SFS SCEA. Is their really any advantage towards doing so, aside from potentially "getting it out of the way early"?

Thanks

Georgetown isn’t necessarily SCEA.

While they don’t allow you to apply to any ED schools if you do EA with them, they are fine with you applying EA to as many other places as you want.

Thanks…but what about the increase chances of getting in?

Where did you get that stat from? This year, EA was 13% and RD about 16.5%.

Class of 2015 stats I think.

So if it’s actually LOWER, than I’m guessing there isn’t an advantage in SCEA.

Again, it’s EA, not SCEA. And yeah there is essentially no advantage. They will only admit you in the early round if they are sure they would admit you in the regular round.
