Im a recruited athlete

I'm an african Immigrant from sudan

GPA about a 3.8 about a 4.1 Weighted No Class Rank

Played Football, Track , Lacrosse, and community services at UVA, I/ My team have won state titles in lacrosse and track

Does being a recruited athlete help you chances at all at top colleges ?

Your fretting about a 3.44 in freshman year? Calm down, you don’t need a perfect 4.0 to get into a top college.

If you’re recruited at all top colleges, it certainly helps your chances. Coaches particularly don’t like seeing people in their conferences getting athletes that they crave.

If anything, I wouldn’t be concerned about freshman grades but about the amount of rigor in your middle and senior years. Coaches at stanford don’t want their recruits not being able to keep up.

Does this mean you would be a transfer applicant? Or you just played at the UVA campus while in HS?

I think Stanford discards Freshman year grades, but you may want to confirm that.

@"Erin’s Dad" OP is in 10th grade. It seems like what the OP posted are projections (Not many sophomore recruited athletes out there). OP, when you take your SAT, try to bring it above 2000 and make sure you increase your GPA so you could * actually * get a 3.8.
