... just curious.

LOL i’d like to know too. lime green all the way.

Officially…no. If you are willing to pay the steep fines…up to you.

There’s a process you can go through to try and officially paint rooms/halls. The Enchanted Broccoli Forest, Columbae, and probably Chi Theta Chi and Synergy as well, have halls/rooms painted. It’s pretty neat. I have never seen anything painted in a standard dorm, save for temporary dorm decorations.

That said you can definitely adhere butcher paper to the wall and paint over it, as long as the wall looks relatively undamaged when you’re through. Alternatively, you can hang art on the wall, I have about 10 pieces of art hung by nails, and so far I have not been fined for this (I do cover the holes with toothpaste and tissue at the end of the year).

You can also paint walls with light, if you catch my drift. For instance depending on which lights I have on my walls will be anything from orange to blue. Fabric/rugs are other good alternatives for wall decorations.

Also, if you do paint on the walls, you can always try repainting the walls yourself. I did this to someone’s room last year, and as far as I know she wasn’t fined. The trouble is finding the right paint, and luckily the house I was in then had a few pints of the matching color. Of course then you may have to repaint the entire wall, depending on how skilled you are.

At the end of the day, though, I think the fine is in the ballpark of a couple hundred bucks. My roommates and I got fined this amount my freshman year because the ceiling chipped considerably due to some stuff we put up there.
