Does submitting resume, yourspace improve your chance in admissions?

For most of the schools that I apply to has a section where I can upload additional resume or link to YourSpace.
I understand that it is an additional option for students to really show themselves, but I was wondering if submitting them would be a big help in getting admitted.

I think I’m pretty satisfied with my Common App information, and submitting an additional resume or YourSpace can get repetitive. If I can put pictures of my extracurricular or my hobbies, or demonstration of creativity, will it help in admissions process? I’m split whether to do it or not because I think it will take up quite a time for me to work on it. Would it be worth it?

Thank you!

No, especially if it’s redundant.

My counselor has always told us that just because something says its optional doesn’t mean it really is. Admissions officers always appreciate more information, and even if the résumé is largely redundant, it demonstrates commitment and enthusiasm. I would strongly recommend submitting it.

Improve? No. And "Admissions officers always appreciate more information " is laughable. They want SUFFICIENT information. Too much is painful

@T26E4 is right and @collegeboundrva 's advice is misinformed.

Colleges requested the resume upload feature be stripped from the Commom App and they complied. What does that tell you about how much most colleges desire to read resumes?

I’d recommend against pictures etc. Admissions officers are swamped and are not looking to get visual confirmation of what is already in an application. I

“demonstrates commitment and enthusiasm.”

Not. And redundant is a pita.
