I was going to switch my service to T-Mobile but before I did, i was wondering if T-Mobile worked well on campus for anyone who has the service. Thanks.

We toured the campus last August...and we stayed in town for several days.
Our t-mobile service was awful all over Berkeley...so beware!
A friend that lives there uses Verizon - and he seemed pleased with their service - so that may be the way to go.

lived at unit1, the service map showed it to be "green" but i didnt get good service

now have cingular, its much better

I recommend Cingular. I got full bars at the Units and even at the Big C! All over campus I get great reception. Cingular as multiple plans so I highly recommend it.

Off topic, but what's Big C? Ive only been to the campus once, on cal day, and I defintly did not get anywhere near the whole campus toured--only sproul, the general area around it and foothill.

I think the Big C is located on "tightwad hill" above memorial stadium, but the only time I ever notice it is when I'm at the top of the Campenile.

I would avoid T-Mobile just as a rule, having had a year of rollercoaster service.

Verizon is without a doubt the best service, but you don't get the best bang for the buck.

Yeah, the Big C sits about California Memorial Stadium...it's really, really up. You get a great view of the campus and what not...you have to hike up there.

Stanford tries to get up there and paint it red and add things to make it look like an S.

dang so tmobile is no good? i was gonna upgrade my service and resign my contract.. they have promo deal goign on right now... 1000minutes(+50loyalty minutes) + free nights/weekends + longdistance no roaming for... $40/month.

is that worth the bad reception?

...the best you get w/ cingular/verizon is 450min + free nights/weekends for $40/month... so there's quite a large disparity.
