Does Taking December ACT/SAT Affect When UC Application is Evaluated?

Does indicating on college apps (UCs specifically) that you'll be taking the Dec ACT/SAT affect when admission officers evaluate your application?

I read this in Ms. Sun's UC Admissions Blog: "Application evaluation starts in the middle of December. Applications with self-reported December test scores are held until official scores arrive (or they are reviewed in January without the December test scores)."

If that's true, wouldn't that be a disadvantage for Dec test takers because their applications will be among the last to get evaluated? Or does this only apply to those who are taking the ACT/SAT for the FIRST time and have no previous scores listed/sent? I already took the Sept ACT, but I'm registered to take it again in Dec.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Each UC campus receives tens of thousands of applications. Mid-january is not “last to get evaluated…”

Think about it (critically): these are government offices; they begin reading in mid-Dec, then promptly go on hiatus for the Holidays.

@bluebayou Good point. Thank you!
