does taking health senior year cause a red flag during college admissions

long story short: health class in my school is given to 10th and 11th graders and is a necessity in order to graduate.
well, i was new to this district in grade 10 and had no awareness of this. thus, my current junior year course load is already complete and ready to go. i know senior year is the year when you have to take exceptional classes, but for me, i have to enroll into health. will this prompt a red flag? will this show that i’m an inadequate candidate?

You’ll have classes besides health. Make the most of those choices and your performance.

Don’t worry about it - it’s a requirement and students get fit it in whenever they can.

If it’s a graduation requirement, just take it whenever it fits. You can try to explore other options, such as taking it over the summer or taking it online. My son’s school district also offers health in its credit by exam system, although I’m not sure how common that is. If you can’t or don’t want to get your health class credit by alternative means, it’s really no big deal to take the class senior year.

Short answer, no. An admissions offcier won’t bat an eyelid. And actually, many seniors take one or two classes purely for interest as seniors. Junior year is generally the most rigorous year for many students. It doesn’t mean you should slack off senior year, but many seniors finally have space in their schedule to take a class of interest, so they do.

Take it over the summer/online if it uses up a class period you wanted for another subject. But it won’t hurt your college prospects. It’s a mandatory class and stusents take it whenever they can.
