All IB classes are weighted.
it depends on your high school and the college you’re applying to. My high school weighted all IB classes (so both years of HL classes were weighted). However, the UC college system only weighted certain IB classes (I believe they didn’t weight IB math SL or the first year of IB Bio HL).
It is school dependant, nothing in my kids school is weighted, IB, AP, foundation, all have the same GPA. Bummer really for the kids who choose rigour and get rank penalised.
