I've read up on the six colleges, but not really sure what's in it for transfer students? Would you automatically fulfill the GE requirements for whatever college you get into you're already finished IGET-C? and if you're not planning to live in the dorms, would it really matter?

and if it does matter, which college would be suitable for Poli-sci?

Thanks

First of all, it doesn’t matter what major you are… For poli sci, any of them will be fine.

I don’t know about GE requirements for transfer students. Each college has it’s own GE requirements obviously, but I’m not sure if they have different policies regarding your situation. I believe that a couple of the colleges don’t accept UC reciprocity (while the rest do), so that could indicate that they have different policies in general. Check the website. Or call tomorrow.

be careful as a transfer student choosing your college…for the most part it doesn’t matter, but some of the colleges don’t accept IGETC, so if that’s how you’re completing your GE’s, some of the colleges will make you do most of the GE’s when you get there. Also, if you go into ERC, you WILL have to do a few classes of Making of the Modern World, which I’ve heard sucks, but you may like it, so look into that as well.

The webpages of the six colleges on the UCSD website can help you with all of that
