Does the fact that I went down destroy chances

I am a junior, I had a 93UW Freshman year, I took 2 honors classes, no AP's were offered
I had an 89UW Sophomore year, I took one honors, and AP World which I got a 4 on and a 90 in the class

This year im taking AP LIT, APUSH, and AP Spanish

The only reason why my GPA went down so much last year because I took Chem in 10th, and I finished with a 72.

Im sure my GPA will go up this year but does the fact that my GPA went down 4 points from a year destroy any chances for good schools

bump bump bump

It really depends on the whole big picture. If your grades this year are better, than that 72 really shouldn’t matter much. Also, there’s really no single make-it-or-break-it think on the application, so one grade really won’t kill you. Of course, good ECs and test scores still won’t cover up a bad GPA, but I wouldn’t sweat it…then again, I’m a little unfamiliar with the way you have your GPA set up, I’m on the 4.0 scale, so it could be a bigger deal.

its on a 4.0 scale too, also our school doesnt release rankings

Just go back up junior and senior year and you have nothing to worry about.
