Does the major matter for recruition?

I know that Berkeley Haas School is extremely well-credited in the nation, and it attracts numerous amount of recruitiers, even the very top ones.

Although I'd love to go there, unfortunately I've applied for Economics. Do you think Economics major will fall behind the Business majors in terms of recruition? In another word, do recruiters prefer business major over econ major? Or would it not matter at all and view both majors as equal?

I dunno about Berkeley...I know that at NYU, Stern Finance graduates do very well, but Econ students that do well and get internships often compete for the same jobs. Like Stern, going to Haas will give you a degree from one of the best b-schools in the nation. At the same time, Econ at Berkeley will in no way limit you and it will ultimately come down to what you do with whatever degree you get.

any more feedbacks or should i take this to Internship Board?

As far as I know Haasholes get first dibs on recruiting. I believe they have their own career center and resources that the rest of the school does not have access to. That is what I have heard although I am too lazy to verify it at this very moment. It is probably better to ask this on the UCB board since those people actually attend the school. :)

They aren't much of help.
they just laughed.

Well that was rude of them. Sorry I just don't know for sure. I do think that is one of the major +'s about Haas though ... the recruiting. Even if you don't have access to the same recruiters UCB is a good enough school where you will still land on your feet.
