does the on-campus interview help that much during admission?

So on the website it says that if you go to an on-campus interview they WILL take note of it when you apply. Does it help that much?
I will be making a two-day visit visit to CMU, but interviews are not going to be offered on those days. Am I really missing something by not being able to get an interview? Is it worth rescheduling or staying a day longer or so?

I had an on-campus interview in June, and I don’t think it was a big deal. I had to fill out a form with my test scores, prospective major, etc… and answer some questions like “what is your career goal?” and “what type of teaching style works best for you?”, but I don’t think the interview will be of much significance, as long as you don’t completely screw it up.
