Does the order of activities really matter?

In the common app, it says "Please list your principal extracurricular, community, volunteer and family activities and hobbies in the order of their interest to you." (It's bolded in the app too)

Until November, Activity X matters more to me than Activity Y (Activity X ends and Activity Y starts in November). I care about both equally.

Currently Activity Z is ranked higher than both of these because I cared a lot about it during 10th and 11th grades and I also hold a leadership position in it but in Senior, I know I'm gonna care more about Activities X and Y.

Does the order really matter a whole lot? Am I just splitting hairs?

Huh, I never noticed that. I never really put them in the order that interested me per say. I simply organized it by the time spent on each activity (which I guess is interest since I spent the most time on the things that interested me).

That makes sense…Thanks!
