does the real highschool life in US like the hollywood movie?

as the title say..............

Tell me this is a joke...

no it isnt.... its the same as it would be anywhere else (unless that anywhere else is small village in africa or something) but yeah

Oh gosh no. Like those shows, the OC or Gossip girl, they are nothing like what high school life is. Much less dramatic and more drab.

it's more like people trying to imitate movies...

i think that in the movies, they try to make the gap between social groups larger than what it really is, IMO.

No it's not- I've been to three different high schools in the US, and they are all radically different. Even within the states, high schools really aren't that similar to each other.

But to the op- high schools (except for maybe one or two) are nothing like in the movies.

-______________-

lulz, where do you live?

High school is what you make of it. Period.

high school is just like how it is depicted on gossip girl

hello superbad duh

Every school is different. Some schools in very rich neighborhoods are sometimes like what you see in the movies, or worse. Other schools (like mine) are full of students who don't value drama and materialism, but rather devote their time to studying, getting into a good college, and trying to enjoy whatever time we have in between.

Freshman and sophomore year I would have Said no
Starting end of junior into now what is my Senior year, I hate to say it but very much so.
There are a lot of things, be it parties (very big one that stuff actually does happen similarly), classroom student teacher student whatever interactions, halls, and very much so with the lunch segregation.
and the drama
my god
there is so much drama
but... I kinda like drama... that's proabbly not a good thing at all though.
I live in southern california (but Inland empire) and I would have to agree that it is. Just maybe to a lesser extent.... but even then not really

Every high school varies, but I would assume most high schools fit the stereotype of the American High School in some way. My high school is much different than those T.V. high schools in more ways than one. Whether you go to a run down H.S. in inner city Chicago, a small town school in Montana, or Laguna Beach High School, teenagers are teenagers and stereotypes stem from the truth, right?

^_^some movies just like "the girl next door""the hot chick"...aways give me the same ideas about the high life in America.

There was a movie filmed at my high school in the 80s (Can't Buy Me Love, read: Patrick Dempsey) ... and some teachers have commented that the movie portrayed life in the 80s at my school alright, but for the most part, it was hollywood.

Yes, because what's portrayed in movies is EXACTLY what it's like. Please, think before asking such a ridiculous question...

I don't think its that bad of a question at all.

but... are schools in Japan (and the teenage culture) like Tokyo Drift?
