<p>Does the U.S. Naval Academy consider your freshman year of high school important for admission? For example, I didn't do so well in my freshman year, as I had some trouble transitioning to high school life. I had some extracurricular activities (no sports, though) in my freshman year, but I don't know if it's enough for the Academy to overlook my bad freshman year. If I do amazing in the next three years of high school, would the Naval Academy overlook my bad freshman year of high school.</p>

<p>chuckjuday, the question for you is why would you do anything but your very best over the next 3 years? As has already been generously offered, USNA and every other institution values progress. Seems like you’ve provided ample potential for such. Now you’ve one simple decision … do it or not.</p>
