Does the U.S. Military Academy consider your freshman year of high school important for admission? For example, I didn't do so well in my freshman year, as I had some trouble transitioning to high school life. I had some extracurricular activities (no sports, though) in my freshman year, but I don't know if it's enough for the Academy to overlook my bad freshman year. If I do amazing in the next three years of high school, would the Military Academy overlook my bad freshman year of high school.

Overlook? no.
See that you improved greatly–yes
For the sake of random numbers, if you had a 2.0 then 3 years of 4.0 (unweighted out of 4.0), you would not be automatically passed over.

Fact you are asking the question now likely means it will not be a major factor.

Read up and know the makeup of the Class of 2014 and then 2015 when it comes out. Start working SAT prep now. Start into Boy Scouts towards your Eagle. Gain one or two Varsity atheletic letters. If you are not working on your Eagle, find a sutibale consistent public service you can provide - volunteer at your local EMS and get certified, for example.

Grades are important, but what is more important is your ability to demonstrate character, leadership, your SAT/ACT score and that you apply yourself as an athlete.
