Hi everyone,

I'm currently a freshman at North Carolina State University and feel as if I have made a terrible decision. Oh, I'm also in the college of natural resources as a policy and administration major. The end of my first semester is nearing, and I have yet to "branch out."I joined a sports club, but it is no where near what I am looking for. I am an arts minor with an interest in photography, and when I attempted to join the Photography club, the current president just gave me his title and basically dipped out. In other words, I have been let down by NCSU. I am pretty sociable, and was even on prom court and what not in high school. I don't mean to sound pretentious, but since I did not go Greek I have made little to no friends.

I recently visited a friend at Western Carolina and fell in love with the area. UNCA is only about 40 minutes away and I just can't seem to shake the idea of living in the mountains. The art community is also more vibrant there. I know NCSU has a ton to offer, but I feel like I'm just a number here. I would love to transfer to Asheville, but how is it seen amongst employers? I plan on going to law school to pursue Environmental Law. Would transferring hurt my chances of getting into top law schools? I recently went on a trip abroad with a few students from the UK and one of the students is at Durham (one of the top uni's in the UK) and plans to study law as well. He told me that regardless of GPA and LSAT scores, where you studied for undergrad is important. What should I do?
