Ok I wasn't sure where to ask this but I'm a Sri Lankan male applying to college this year. Do you think being Sri Lankan would help or hinder my applications? I know being african american, hispanic, and native american improves your chances so I was wondering if being sri lankan did the same because it's a minority.

Thanks

Being of such a small minority (Sri Lankan) should essentially benefit you more than if you were apart of a more popular minority (hispanic, african, etc).

The only group I don’t think you beat out is Native Americans, because colleges just seem to love them.

Yea, but we could be considered part of the Indian sub continent group and actually be discriminated against, since they have too many Indians in medicine.
