Does this count as a teacher recommender?

I have someone who I want to write one of my letters of rec. He is an employee at my high school, but not a certified high school teacher. He has the credentials of a college instructor, however, and took over as my AP Calculus teacher for a period of time when my original teacher passed away. His title is “math specialist,” and he helped out our AP Calculus class the entire year, kind of like a TA. This year, he helps out in my physics class (different teacher).

I was wondering if he would count as a “teacher” for this? I think he would be a wonderful person to write it as he has experience in the fields I want to enter and has seen my work ethic.

You should call the individual schools you’re applying to if you want a certain answer. I was in a similar situation, and the solution for me was to use that person as my optional third recommendation.
