Ok so I applied to U of M engineering late sept and the other day I get this letter from LSA honors college. I turns out that it was one of those, please apply to our school its so great and everything. I really didn't think much of it since I have had a major influx of letters like these over the past few months. But, it turns out that my mom (who is a teacher) talked to the admissions counselor at her school and he said that the letter is a very good sign even though I didn't apply to LSA. I'm not really sure to take this advice to heart or not...I don't know, did they even begin review apps last week? ANY THOUGHTS?

Thanks.

I'm pretty sure they are two separate processes. Recruitment and the review of applications are not done together...so I wouldn't read too much into it.

My D got one of those letters too, didn't think much of it as she's been getting ones like it from other schools lately. Likely due to recent NMSF or NHS designations. She also applied to UM (L&S), in late Sept.

That letter sounds pretty optimistic...I mean why would they ask you to apply to the honors program if you weren't gonna get in? I'd say you are going to be accepted definitely.

haha i turned in my app on 10/26 and got it a week later, which was pretty darn fast...

I didn't get anything like that :(

What was your ACT umhopeful?

33 composite, dont remember subscores cept science, which was 35... and my sat(minues writing) was 1430... omfg 100th post, hellz yea!

Yeah...I got a 32 composite but my math subscore was a 35
