I would assume that Oberlin has experience dealing with depression because that is so common place. But what do people do about eating disorders at Oberlin?
The counseling center is experienced at dealing with a wide variety of mental health issues, including eating disorders. http://new.oberlin.edu/office/counseling-center/
I recommend that any student with a mental health disorder have outside counseling in place before arriving on campus. The counseling center at any college is set-up for short-term or crisis counseling. If you need on-going therapy, you will need to have a therapist off campus, as most schools limit you to a few sessions.
You should let the school counseling center know about your eating disorder, though, as they may be able to refer you to a doctor near campus. The main thing is to get all of your support set up so that you will have the best chance of success once you get there.
